Engineering Lead
Land Pride Engineering Lead – Implements – Salina, KS
Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Manufacturing, currently has an opening for an Engineering Lead to join the Implement and Attachment Development team.
This position works M-Th from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (4-day workweek) at the Salina, KS Land Pride Product Engineering Facility. Some out of state travel is required.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise Implement engineering team, and plan activities to maintain project schedules
• Develop criteria for design, manufacture, or construction of agricultural equipment.
• Direct, review, and approve product design and changes, and directs testing.
• Direct and coordinate manufacturing or building of prototype product or system.
• Plan and develop experimental test programs.
• Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
• Confer with research and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required.
• Evaluate engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
• Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, and confer with management, production, and product management to plan and assess feasibility of project.
• Work with sourcing department to identify and select component suppliers.
• Work with manufacturing and quality departments to support component and machine production.
• Work with LP service department to address field service issues and implement design changes as necessary.
• Evaluate team member performance and coach team members for improvement.
• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills And Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or agricultural engineering or related field
• 5 plus years of experience within a design engineering team – product design experience preferred
• Excellent computer skills, i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Windchill
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage department staff in a team environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely troubleshoot/diagnose problems
• Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, structural, and mechanical drive systems
• Availability to travel out of state for multiple days during peak seasons
