Senior Mechanical Engineer
LHH a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will perform a range of engineering tasks within the planning and design phases for equipment, systems, or processes. You’ll leverage your understanding of project objectives and industry standards to create reliable, efficient, and cost-effective mechanical systems. Your work will involve collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, managing project deliverables, and ensuring designs meet regulatory and industry requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop designs for mechanical and process systems, ranging from straightforward to complex. Projects will include mechanical utility systems such as chilled water, cooling tower water, heating water, steam and condensate, compressed air, natural gas, and water.
• Work closely with design team members in mechanical, process, and other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution and adherence to specifications.
• Validate designs through mechanical calculations, including HVAC load assessments, air and water pressure drops, and other performance-related calculations to ensure project feasibility and compliance.
• Lead and direct the work of engineers, designers, and drafters, guiding the project workflow to ensure timely and high-quality project completion.
• Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors, facilitating smooth project communication and collaboration.
• Monitor project scope changes, identify potential risks, and collaborate with the Discipline Manager and Project Managers to develop effective contingency plans.
• Participate in construction support activities, including field verification, generating site observation reports, responding to RFIs, and reviewing submittals to ensure design integrity through to project completion.
• Support project work across multiple office locations, contributing to a unified and effective workflow across teams.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical/process system design within an engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of HVAC load calculations, fluid dynamics, and utility system design.
• Familiarity with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
• Proficiency in design software and CAD tools.

Pay Details: $140,000.00 to $160,000.00 per year
