Position Title: Maintenance Technician/Ft. Inn, SC
Hours:
7am-4:15pm (Monday – Thursday)
7am-12noon (Friday); MUST be flexible to work overtime when necessary to include some weekends
Pay Range: $18/$22 (Depends on Experience)
POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for performing routine building and equipment maintenance. Responsible for identifying, assessing, and repairing basic and intermediate issues, ranging from basic housekeeping and maintenance to machinery and facility. Perform other tasks as assigned. Ensure building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•
Ensures operation of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on electrical circuits, motors, and pneumatic systems of production and facility equipment, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.

Ability to demonstrate effective troubleshooting and problem solving.
•
Controls downtime by informing/scheduling routine preventive maintenance and repairs with production and facilities supervisors.
•
Maintain heating, cooling, and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
•
Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. switches and outlets, LED, incandescent, and fluorescent bulbs, ballast, fuses, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
•
Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).
•
Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).
•
Reconfigures, installs, positions, and remount’s modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies, and hand trucks.
•
Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools (e.g. sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc.).
•
Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, corridors, elevators, stairways, facility grounds, and other work areas.
•
Order parts and maintain required documentation.
•
Performs other work related duties as assigned.
•
Must be able to work flexible hours for critical maintenance and repairs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•
High School diploma or GED preferred.
•
1-2 years working experience in facility maintenance or related trades.
•
Understanding of commercial HVAC systems and a strong mechanical aptitude.
•
Pneumatic tooling and controls
REQUIREMENTS:
•
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•
Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word, and Excel
•
Ability to use common hand, battery, and pneumatic tools
•
Ability to understand and follow directions as given
•
Ability to work with minimal supervision
•
Valid SC Driver’s License
•
Ability to lift minimum 50 lbs. and push 75 lbs. (equipment and supplies).
•
Ability to climb ladder and step ladder.
•
Bending at the waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, climbing, walking, etc., as job may require.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
•
Ability to work in heat or cold
•
Noise level which may, at times, require normal hearing protection in the form of ear plugs.
•
Ability to work heights not to exceed 35 ft.
•
Lubricating fluids, cleaning solvents used in custodial duties., etc.
•
Paints, solvents, and dust.
