Position Overview
Elliott Davis is a leading provider of strategic finance and CFO advisory services to private equity portfolio and high growth companies in the middle market. We partner with portfolio company leadership and investors to transform legacy accounting functions into the storyteller and strategic driver for their businesses
Our highly experienced team creates value for our customers at every stage of the business and investment life cycle through an integrated and end-to-end approach. We work closely with our firm’s private equity and family enterprise practices to support companies throughout their business life cycle – from introduction to exit and collaborate with our other consulting service lines to ensure we provide our customers with the best support possible.
In this role, the Manager is responsible for working within the Firm’s Transaction, Strategy, and Operations practice with a heavy emphasis in accounting advisory, accounting and finance operations advisory, corporate finance advisory, and deal advisory service offerings. The Manager will deliver accounting and financial support, assisting in the enhancement of the finance function and playing a critical role in post-close and pre-sell activities. Projects include opening balance sheet and closing statement preparation, standing-up a post transaction accounting and finance function, GAAP conversions, technical accounting research, interim accounting services, audit readiness and support, and purchase and deal accounting. The Manager will have access to decision makers on a daily basis and will be involved in business development and customer initiatives that drive growth across all of our service lines.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of the client's business and recognize key performance drivers, trends and developments
• Identify performance improvement opportunities and recommend creative solutions to complex issues
• Be growth motivated, own client relationships and oversee engagement economics and management of resources
• Lead conversations with teams, clients and stakeholders to build trust
• Collaborate with other Elliott Davis teams
• Communicate confidently in a clear, concise and articulate manner
Requirements
• 4+ years of experience in some combination of: (1) industry accounting department leadership role (i.e. manager, assistant controller, controller); (2) public accounting audit practice; or (3) technical accounting consulting
• Experience with transaction-related accounting at a private equity portfolio company and in audit is preferred
• Demonstrated experience leading acquisition accounting projects, including preparation of opening balance sheets and post-close adjustments
• Strong background in deal related technical accounting (US GAAP)
• Familiarity with financial due diligence, deal structuring, and post-transaction integration and restructuring
• Experience in overseeing financial operations, including month-end close and financial reporting, accounting processes, budgeting, and internal controls
• Hands-on experience with accounting systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics) and financial reporting tools
• Exceptional client facing communication skills, with experience presenting to senior management, investors, board members, and other stakeholders
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery of high quality results
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required
