About The Role
We are seeking a Machine Operator to join our Looms Department team at our Greenville, SC Manufacturing facility. As a Machine Operator in the Looms Department, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining weaving machines, ensuring that they are running efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will be able to identify and troubleshoot issues with the machines, and implement root-cause analytical solutions to prevent future problems. The Machine Operator will safely control and operate various machines and equipment involved in production of nets and straps.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
• Operates and maintains weaving machines to ensure efficient and effective production; Assigned machines may include warper, looms, and dye range, and similar equipment.
• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
• Starts machines, monitors operation and makes adjustments as needed; Inspects area for quality issues and ensures proper machine operation
• Produces the required quantity of materials within established specifications and tolerances.
• Remove finished material and stage for production
• Identify and troubleshoot issues with the machines, and implement root-cause analytical solutions to prevent future problems
• Collaborates with team to ensure that production processes are lean and efficient
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Follows all safety procedures for the job duties assigned
• Performs all otherduties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
• Ability to read, write, understand basic communication, directions, understand lot numbers & do basic math
• Must have good analytical and organizational skills
• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
• Ability to work well with other associates and take direction from Supervisor or Lead
• Ability to perform tasks at a safe, quick pace
Education And Experience
• Experience in the manufacturing industry, experience with weaving machines preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to traverse manufacturing facility and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced
• Ability to stand for the duration of shift (8 hours)
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch as needed
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
Work Schedule/Location:
• Onsite
• Monday - Friday
• 2nd Shift: 2pm - 10:30pm
