Senior Lithium Product Engineer

Job Purpose
As a Senior Lithium Product Engineer, you will play a critical role in leading the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge lithium-ion cells. This position requires advanced technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and experience in large-scale, high-impact projects.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
• Research & Development: Spearhead research initiatives to discover new materials and advanced cell designs that improve energy density, safety, and cost efficiency.
• Testing & Evaluation: Lead the testing, evaluation, and optimization of lithium-ion cells, using advanced tools for modeling and simulation.
• Collaboration: Act as the technical liaison between cross-functional teams, ensuring all aspects of cell design are aligned with manufacturing, quality, and safety requirements.
• Documentation & Reporting: Oversee the preparation of comprehensive design documents, technical reports, and performance analyses.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure stringent quality control measures are integrated into the cell design and production processes, addressing any technical issues that arise.
• Project Management: Lead multiple complex projects, managing budgets, schedules, and teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Continuous Improvement: Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering innovation and continuous improvement in cell design and processes.
Travel Expectations
There will be 50% travel for the first year of employment and 25% thereafter on an ongoing basis. You must be able to travel both domestically and internationally.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent); Master’s or PhD preferred.
• 6-8 years of experience in lithium-ion cell design, development, and testing.
• Expertise in electro-chemical systems, cell architecture, and advanced testing methodologies.
• Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams and large-scale projects.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards (UN/DOT, IEC, ISO).
• Strong project management skills, with experience in resource allocation, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
