This position holds the crucial role of providing strategic leadership to key areas that drive revenue for Furman Athletics. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to oversight of athletics revenue generation, marketing, communications, promotions, game day experience, athletics ticket sales, corporate partnerships, licensing and branding with a focus on Greenville and Upstate South Carolina. Opportunity for sport supervision.Job Description:Responsibilities:Chief Revenue Officer for Furman AthleticsSupervises the following:Athletics Marketing and Promotions; Game Day ExperienceAthletics CommunicationsAthletic Ticket OfficeBranding/LicensingRelationship with Athletics multimedia rights holderDesignated Head CoachesCoordinates the vision and strategic planning for all external initiativesResponsible for coordinating Timmons Arena renovation revenue generation plan and oversight of strategic partners such as Taymar and LegendsDrives strategy to increase attendance to home athletics contests with emphasis on revenue sportsServes as the primary liaison between Furman Athletics’ multimedia rights holder, guiding partnership strategy and maximizing revenue opportunities for the institutionEnsures communication between all external units conducting meetings to ensure seamless coordination across all areasIn partnership with the Associate AD – Director of Athletics Development and Alumni Relations, develops and executes the fundraising strategy for annual giftsCollaborate with University Advancement staff to further university-wide fundraising goals and effectively promote engagement and philanthropy and broad-based donor communications.Works with University Communications and University Advancement in an effort to grow community relations and engage with Greenville, Upstate South Carolina and a national audience.Designs and implements a strategy to strengthen and grow Furman Athletics’ brand in the community, region, and nationwideImplements creative and innovative approach to revenue generation in coordination with other areas and key stakeholders on campusWorks collaboratively with the Senior Associate AD – Internal Operations and the Associate AD/ Director of Athletics Development and Alumni Relations to develop and fund capital projects and expand game day experience for donorsWorks collaboratively with the Athletics Business Office on contractual agreements regarding television, radio and multi-media rights and other external agreementsStrengthens relationships with Furman alumni, parents and friends to enhance support for athletics programsRepresents the athletics department at public events when the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics cannot attendOversees strategy to engage fans and drive excitement during postseason competitionCreates plans to ensure Furman Athletics is prepared to respond in any situation (i.e. capitalizing on big wins, postseason runs, crisis management)*Candidates will be hired at the level that is comparable to their experience, knowledge, skills and abilitiesRelationships:Position requires extensive interaction with campus, donors, alumni and friends of the University utilizing a variety of communication methods through direct face-to-face contact, events and other relationship building opportunities for the purpose of driving revenue, cultivating relationships, driving attendance, strengthening branding and meeting departmental goals.Responsibility for Final Decisions:Tasks involve interpretation of data and/or procedures to address problems or situations that are not clearly defined. Work involves non-routine/diverse work not defined by procedures.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.Strong interpersonal skills are essential for interaction with colleagues, coaches, donors, trustees, students, alumni, parents and friends of Furman University.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.Self-confidence, strong organizational skills, and effective time management skills are essential.Ability to effectively represent the University and to work effectively in a team environment with a mix of alumni and colleagues.Preferred Qualifications:At least 5 years of managerial experience and proven leadership in college athletics with emphasis on experience driving revenue.
