Field Service Technician
Summary: Galileo TP is a quickly growing company in a unique and exciting field, working with manufacturers in the refrigeration industry. We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated Field Technician willing to see jobs through to completion. This individual must be able to quickly understand each customer’s process and requirements, and must be able to effectively and professionally diagnose, repair, and communicate technical information to personnel at various levels, including upper-management, engineers, operators and contractors. Job Responsibilities:
• Perform service on Galileo equipment on-site with customers and/or provide support and troubleshoot issues over the phone or through email in an efficient manner.
• Complete installations of manufacturing equipment at customer locations across North America.
• Provide written reports of all onsite visits for service and/or installations.
• Work with the commercial and engineering departments to assure customer’s technical needs are understood and achieved.
• Create service and parts quotes as requested by customer.
• Open to pre-office hour calls from our headquarters in Florence, Italy to communicate information and receive product support.
• Must be willing and able to travel throughout North American market
• Willing to travel outside of normal office hours.
• Occasionally must travel by company car from office to customer locations.
Qualifications:
• Basic computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel)
• High School Diploma and/or Associate Degree
• Must have basic training in working safely with electricity.
• Basic HVAC/R knowledge
• Able to communicate clearly and professionally through emails and phone calls.
• Must be detail-oriented and possess proficient skill working with tools.
• Must be prepared to pass background, drug, driving and credit screening.
Useful but not required skillsets:
• Bilingual—Spanish or Italian
• IT experience (setting up simple networks)
• Basic programming or PLC troubleshooting
• Experience with managing/working with contractors.
• Basic electrical skills (wiring panels, pulling wire, running conduit)
• Mechanical aptitude (rebuilding compressors, vacuum pumps and gas transfer pumps)
