Job Summary:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring effective and accurate traceability and management of materials within the organization. This includes overseeing the receipt, inspection, storage, and dispatch of materials, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring that all processes align with quality standards. The Logistics Manager will also play a critical role in supporting and training logistics personnel, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining communication with Quality, Production, and Engineering departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Material Traceability and Record-Keeping:
- Oversee traceability of materials from receipt to outgoing shipments.
- Maintain accurate digital and hard copy records of material transactions.
- Conduct daily traceability audits, ensuring all scrap is accurately noted.
2. Receiving and Inspection of Materials:
- Manage incoming inspection and logging of raw materials.
- Receive all deliveries, verify accuracy, distribute to respective personnel, and ensure packing slips are delivered to accounting.
- Sample received raw materials for hardness, run-out, O.D., and length as part of quality checks, and record results in ERP system.
3. Shipment Accuracy and Customer Support:
- Ensure all outgoing shipments are accurate in terms of count, labeling, and packaging standards to meet customer expectations.
- Address and resolve any shipment-related inquiries from customers, providing necessary support and information.
4. Inventory Management:
- Implement strict inventory management and tracking practices for raw materials, finished goods, and packing materials.
- Maintain inventory levels of packing materials and order replenishments only when levels reach unsatisfactory thresholds.
- Track and maintain an inventory of PPE, ensuring employees have the necessary gear for safe task execution.
5. Rejected Materials and Quality Coordination:
- Manage the receipt of rejected tools, log them in ERP, and coordinate with the Quality department for inspection.
- Communicate all material-related issues with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
