The role: Business Analyst
Business Analysis
• Collaborate with Product Owner to gather and document business requirements, ensuring they are clearly understood and aligned with project objectives.
• Create and manage Product Backlog with inputs from Product Owner
• Create User Stories with clear acceptance criteria after conducting detailed analysis of business requirements, systems, and data
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories with clear acceptance criteria that can be easily understood by the development team.
• Support Scrum Master in Sprint Planning
Agile Scrum Collaboration
• Act as a liaison between the business and development teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding of project goals.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Work closely with the Product Owner to prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring that the most critical features are delivered on time.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, project managers, developers, and other business analysts.
• Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues, and propose solutions to overcome challenges.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to elicit requirements, resolve conflicts, and drive consensus among stakeholders.
Documentation And Reporting
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and user guides.
• Develop and deliver reports and presentations to senior management and stakeholders, summarizing key findings and recommendations.
Continuous Improvement
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the transportation sector.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis processes and tools within the organization.
• Mentor and coach junior business analysts, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance team capabilities.
What You’ll Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Transportation, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 3 years in the transportation industry.
• Strong understanding of transportation processes, systems, and industry regulations.
• Proven experience working in an Agile Scrum environment, including writing user stories, managing backlogs, and participating in Scrum ceremonies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Proficiency in business analysis tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite).
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) is a plus.
