The Real Estate Accountant t is primarily responsible for handling the accounting practices for real estate acquisitions and dispositions. A successful Real Estate Accountant will ensure the financial and operational activities of the company are correctly recorded, controlled, and monitored, build relationships with other departments, and understand that this role is critical to the reputation of Tailwind Group.

Responsibilities & Duties
• Model and cascade Tailwind Group’s five core values: Entrepreneurial, Versatile, Responsive, Innovative, and Integrity.
• Process transactions tasks and transitions for the acquisition of new properties and disposition of current portfolio.
• Communicate with vendors regarding account balances and allocating expenses.
• Maintain ledgers and send invoices.
• Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
• Perform and review monthly financial statements and supplementary reports.
• Research, track, and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
• Lead compilation of reports and summaries on activity areas and communicate with management.
• Perform special projects and ad-hoc analyses as needed.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and/or three to five years of progressive experience in a similar role.
• Experience with real estate transactions is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Ability to read, analyze, articulate, and compile financial reports used for business correspondence.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a growing, fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Possess strong administrative, organization, and communication skills.
• Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism.
• Be a self-motivated individual and excel at working in a team environment.
• Ability to have a positive and innovative approach to problem-solving.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel to various locations.
