Position Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist assists the Administrator in managing the day-to day operations of the facility. Responsible for managing the human resources functions at assigned facility which includes to talent acquisition, employee relations, and labor management and employment regulatory requirements. The HR Generalist manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs.
Essential Job Duties:
Advertise open positions, screen resumes/applications and participate in the interview process and manage the final hiring decisions for facility.
Manage the onboarding process, facilitate general orientation and assist new hires with logging into Learning Management System to access all required trainings and collaborate with the team to deliver training.
Partner with facility leadership on the oversight and management of labor schedules for nursing to include daily staffing meeting, monitoring labor variances and ensuring appropriate adjustments are made to meet the resident/patient needs.
Partner with department heads to ensure staff is accountable for compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
Accountable for managing the labor management system to include management of overtime, open positions, hours of labor. Develop and execute a plan for facility leadership to address any labor management system variances to restore compliance.
Coach and support facility leadership on employee relations issues such as performance management, discipline and/or termination in compliance with state and federal employment laws.
Handle workplace investigations related to HR matters.
Monitor consistent application of policies and procedures and notifying the Administrator of areas of compliance risks (such as untimely disciplinary actions). Create an action plan and assist with execution to mitigate the risk of noncompliance.
Serves as the liaison between the employee and the Leave of Absence procedure.
Create and maintain all personnel files and electronic records in QAPI as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
Oversight of employment related regulatory matters, such as EEOC, Department of Labor, I-9, WOTC, unemployment compensation.
Maintains files of lesson plans for all programs taught to employees and ensures training records are retained in the electronic learning system.
Coordinate site approval and clinical rotation for nursing students, (i.e., schedule for students, develop ongoing relationship with local colleges) where applicable.
Respond to employee questions regarding human resources policies and procedures.
Partner with Risk Management, Safety and Loss Control regarding facility level maters.
Partner with Labor Management (union contracts) to support union related issues/concerns/questions as appropriate.
Serves as payroll back up for facility.
May perform other duties as directed.
Payroll Personnel (if assigned the task):
Performs all payroll-related duties, including, but not limited to:
Set up and maintenance of post-hire employee payroll information in Company selected payroll Vendor.
Daily maintenance of Kronos timekeeper, including manual entry of time clock adjustments, corrections and Vacation, Holiday and Sick hours.
Input of payroll deductions, labor distributions and prior pay period adjustments as applicable.
Reconciliation of hours worked in Kronos.
Semi-monthly transmission of payroll.
Verification and distribution of paychecks.
Coordinates and monitors the completion of all required forms for new employees.
Maintains OSHA record-keeping and reporting requirements for work-related employee injuries.
Manages the leave of absence program and maintains leave of absence log and monitors employee premium payments for benefit continuation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1 year HR experience is preferred.
Healthcare experience is required with focus on scheduling, recruitment, employee relations, and HR generalist.
May travel up to 10% of time.
