This role independently researches, prepares, & manages grant applications, ensuring financial resources are used efficiently & transparently. Our new Grants Coordinator’s prior experience will be essential, as this person will perform job duties utilizing prior knowledge & expertise with self-directed learning to obtain new information or guidance as needed. The City of Salina offers a supportive environment for self-directed learning & gaining hands-on experience while accessing training resources to further develop the skills needed. Duties: · Compiles necessary information for the application process through collaboration with other employees, database research, & other fact-finding actions & meetings. · Discusses available sources of funding with administrative managers. · Develops & implements policies, plans, & programs for grant management. · Monitors & coordinates the administration of post-award grants to ensure that administrative & budgeting policies, procedures & agency requirements are followed. · Manages administrative problems and/or budget changes occurring during the awarded grant period. · Develops & establishes controls necessary to assure the accuracy & security of all grant records & funds. · Researches grant opportunities & criteria to qualify for each. · Performs outside grant reporting functions. · Tracks all grants the City of Salina has applied for and/or received. Education: Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, accounting, or related field with an emphasis on grant accounting. Experience: Prior grant writing or administration experience desired. Requirements: Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license. Work Type: Light, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Machines, Tools, Equipment: Calculator, computer, copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, tablet, & telephone. Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Starting pay: $23.07-24.22/hr. DOQ EOE · Additional $1.50/hour paid for hours worked after 6:00 p.m. & before 6:00 a.m. Paid Time Off: · 48 hours of vacation available upon hire; additional 48 hours earned during the year (96 hours in first year). · 96 hours of sick leave during first year.
