Job Brief Under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Lead Person, the Forklift Operator is responsible for giving breaks to production forklift drivers and substituting for them during their absence. JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual) Operate a doublewide pallet-handling forklift truck. Change forklift batteries and fill with water as needed. Operate a floor scrubber. Monitor inventory as production is completed and stores in warehouse. Complete all verification paperwork required to document correct inventory. Ability to operate a computer and bar code scanning equipment required. Complete all duties associated with case picking. Complete all duties associated with layer picking. Complete all duties associated with shipping and loading trailers. Must be flexible to work hours of all production lines. Follow good housekeeping practices, and comply with safety and sanitation procedures. Assist other forklift operators as needed. JOB DUTIES/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS (Not fundamental job duties) Possess an attitude of pride in performance of work, be self-motivated and show continual improvement in job performance. QUALIFICATIONS Requires education as normally acquired in high school or equivalent with coursework in Basic English and shop mathematics. Ability to complete Forklift Operator’s training course and successfully pass test to obtain a Forklift Operator’s license. Previous experience with forklift truck is helpful, but not necessary. Requires ability to lift up to 100 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions. Requires ability to communicate with management and other employees. Must possess legible handwriting skills. Must be able to work under a minimum of supervision.
