Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and estimating, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service. As a Body Shop Estimator, you will play a crucial role in assessing vehicle damage, preparing repair estimates, and ensuring that customers receive the highest quality service throughout the repair process. Responsibilities Evaluate vehicle damage and determine necessary repairs by conducting thorough inspections. Prepare accurate and detailed repair estimates using industry-standard software. Communicate effectively with customers to explain the estimation process and answer any questions regarding repairs. Collaborate with technicians to ensure all aspects of the repair process are understood and accounted for in estimates. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, repair techniques, and pricing. Assist in managing customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Provide support in sales efforts by promoting additional services offered by the shop. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies throughout the estimating process. Qualifications Proven experience in auto estimating or a related field is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance, including brake repair and tire service. Familiarity with dealership environments and auto service management practices is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple estimates efficiently. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Proficiency in using estimating software and tools relevant to the automotive industry. A background in sales is beneficial for promoting services effectively.
