Digestive Disease Group, PA is currently recruiting for a full-time Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team . This position will require collaboration with providers in the delivery of quality patient care and service by maintaining patient flow, escorting patients through the clinic, identifying patient needs, collecting/verifying information, updating electronic medical records, answering patient questions, resolving patient issues or concerns, implementing methods as directed to improve care and the patient experience, maintaining exam/treatment rooms and ordering related supplies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure that the patient’s medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results are up-to-date in the patient’s medical records. Ensures that patients are worked up in a timely manner and placed into the appropriate rooms. Performs patient care activities including making referrals, scheduling procedures, and prior authorization for procedures and medications. Provides a wide variety of clinical services to patients under the direct supervision of a physician or advanced physician provider. Provide authorized prescription and drug refill information for pharmacies as directed by the provider. Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or providers' instructions to patients. Maintains a safe and supportive environment by keeping the work area, exam rooms, and equipment in clean, orderly, and safe manner, ensuring availability and proper functioning of supplies and equipment. Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, SC Department of Health). Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. Comply with all practice policies and procedures. Education: LPN graduate from an accredited school of nursing, CMA or RMA graduate from an accredited program. Experience: 2 years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting preferred. Certificates and Licenses: LPNs must have valid SC nursing licenses. CMAs and RMAs must have current certification.
