Overview: The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for managing the relationship and daily interaction with Landair’s transactional (truckload and brokerage) customers, growing relationships and managing service to achieve load growth objectives. The CSR will efficiently manage and coordinate load count growth, accuracy of information entered into the system, service performance levels, improving quality of freight, strengthen relationships with customers, and proactively communicate issues with customers. Responsibilities: Load Count Growth Grow load count to meet Landair’s business objectives Build quality relationships with current and new customers Grow load count thru guidance from internal planners with the maximum amount of freight possible to move our equipment to the full potential Improve Service Track freight and inform customers real time when issues arise Know and understand service expectation for each individual customer Manage or exceed service expectations for each individual customer Develop New Accounts Gain knowledge of the new customer lanes and competitor info so that we can use that information to meet our company objectives. Be perfect on service and communication during start-up phase to increase awareness. Strengthen Relationships Face to face meeting with customer contacts if allowed Proactively communicate all issues and potential problems with a shipment to customer Get to know key customer contact on a personal level to better position Landair for freight opportunities Accuracy Input loads accurately with all pertinent information set forth by both our customers and accounts receivable departments Update and maintain all customer books so that in your absence anyone can manage your customers seamlessly Improve Quality of Freight Schedule loads with velocity that will maximize our utilization safely Understand seasonal and cyclical markets and solicit freight accordingly to maximize utilization and grow load count for Landair Logistics Work with internal sales and planning to manage undesirable freight by making suggestions on how to improve current freight characteristics or replace with new Qualifications: Essential Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics/transportation or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience might be considered. Know or be able to learn AS-400 Operating System Previous dispatching experience a plus but not required Good communications skills Typing and computer skills preferred Ability to manage priorities Personable, ability to communicate with people at all levels. Ambitious, self-motivated, ability to work without supervision.
