We are looking for a customer service oriented individual to assist in varying capacities in a growing dental practice. This team member will perform administrative tasks as well as clinical tasks as a dental assistant, and should be well-organized with great attention to detail, contributing to the smooth operation of the practice. They must be able to follow instructions and perform their duties according to professional standards and dental practice regulations. Most of all, we desire our new team member to be skilled in excellent patient care and passionate about their work. Pay commensurate with experience. Dental Assistant Responsibilities Welcome customers in the dental office Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed Sterilize instruments according to regulations Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry Undertake lab tasks as instructed Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked Schedule appointments Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures Dental Assistant Skills Knowledge and experience in dental assisting required Such knowledge and experience includes: familiarity with dental instruments, sterilization methods, non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing and an understanding of health & safety regulations Good computer skills required Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized, reliable, and flexible High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant program is preferred Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA) Job Type: Full-time Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week Benefits: 401(k) Flexible spending account Health insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Retirement plan Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Experience: Dental Assisting: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: X-Ray Certification (Required) Work Location: In person
