JOB SUMMARY Maintains adequate parts inventory while minimizing obsolescence; maintaining proper reporting and financial controls; and ensuring adherence to all practices and policies required to meet these objectives.The position will focus on storage and placing parts to support the production schedule. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Effectively manage receiving and storage of materials for production. Receive shipments from various carriers, check items for accuracy, and disperse items to appropriate locations. Entering shipment information into an ERP system, Excel sheets, other order systems Process receiving documents Ensure all discrepancies are reported and resolved immediately Pre-Assembling Material and sub-components Kit orders for production to meet and exceed the production schedule Manage replenishment of materials on production line Issuing Material to production Ensure a process is developed to capture materials issued to production are entered to the corresponding order to capture all associated costs Performing Cycle Counts of material Manage and balance all inventory control within department Lead initiative on new storage techniques for warehouse and production line. Works directly with the sales team to help quote potential orders/business and provides information on parts pricing, availability and lead times. Works directly with the service/production team to help with production scheduling and ensure parts are ordered and received in a timely manner. Lead time draw down objectives to ensure parts arrive prior to chassis arrival Works with sales and production to ensure postproduction run materials are ordered timely to meet delivery requirements Develop and maintain a process to control customer supplied materials from order to delivery Maintain warehouse in a neat and orderly fashion Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. No experience is needed in the heavy-duty truck business, but it is a plus. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
