We offer a middle school structure and environment for grades 5-8, focused on advisory, exploratory, and experiential learning opportunities. Our high school is for grades 9-12, offering college, vocational and work ready courses. We have many opportunities for fine arts and athletics for all students. A Career Technical Education (CTE) Center provides students opportunities in automotive, welding, manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, construction careers and cabinetry. Position Available: Technology Director New Ulm Public Schools is seeking an energetic and highly qualified candidate for the position of District Technology Director. Employment Terms: 12-month contract Start Date – November 14, 2024 Application Deadline – November 1, 2024 Terms: Salary Range $78,000-$120,000 depending on experience and training Job Summary: Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Technology Director is responsible for overseeing the overall functions, operations, and staff engaged in the implementation, support, and servicing of District technology needs. The Technology Director is responsible for providing strategic planning and assistance to the District Administration in addressing the future technology needs and requirements of the District. Essential Duties: Manages an annual software and hardware budget and ten-year budget outlay. Plans hardware replacement cycles and software subscriptions to meet the fiscal requirements of the district. Directs, supervises and manages the Technology Trainer and Assistant. Manages district hardware (network switches, wireless system, phone system, computers, mobile devices, etc.) Ensures updates are deployed, configurations are backed up, and systems are performing as required. Manages productivity suite users and groups, MDM configurations, help desk software, web site, and other administrative software. Collaborates with administrators on assessing and providing guidance concerning district technology use and future needs. Connects with vendors to find solutions, provides support for district projects with technological components, apprises staff of district technology activities, and shares updates, resources, and ideas with staff to encourage skill development. Makes presentations before the School Board concerning the status of technology needs, projects or updates. Recommends and seeks funding for district technology plans. Performs help desk functions and activities. Assists staff in the operation of technology equipment and use of software. Answers questions, responds to requests, and provides technical support and troubleshooting for users. Instructs and trains users over the phone or in person on technology issues, use or operational problems. Maintains a paperless system. Capture and organize paper and digital assets such as bookmarks, PDFs, web archives, and documents to make finding and sharing information easy. QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, MIS, Network Administration or closely related field. 3 years directly related experience, and or a combination of equivalent education and experience to perform the work. Experience in K-12 schools preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have valid driver’s license and own personal vehicle to use to travel within the district boundaries.
