Ivy House seeks a skilled executive director (ED) who has a passion for strengthening families in southern Minnesota. The ED oversees the strategic and operational efficiency of our programs and staff. This person provides Christian leadership to the organization and loves helping kids and their families. Experience building relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, is an essential function of this position. WHO WE ARE We believe every family needs support to stay healthy and strong. Ivy House offers that support by providing free, short-term, 24/7 childcare when parents feel overwhelmed by life. Children ages 0-10 may use Ivy House, and we can care for up to six children at a time. Caregivers use Ivy House for many different reasons including parent doctor visits, sudden loss of daycare, respite care, and domestic violence. We share God’s love with children and their families, no matter what is happening. Caregivers have access to a Family Advocate who walks alongside them, offering support and finding resources. CORE VALUES Christian Servant Leadership | Compassion | Excellence | Trusted RESPONSIBILITIES The Executive Director oversees the daily operation of programs at the Ivy House. Hires, orients, evaluates, and develops staff and volunteers. Performs administrative duties related to programming, grant reports, maintaining program records and program evaluation. Represents the Ivy House in the community through speaking engagements, special events, and presentations. Leadership and Management Ensure the high quality of daily operations, such as finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems. Work with the Program Manager to ensure program excellence and rigorous program evaluation. Engage and energize Ivy House’s volunteers, board members, partnering organizations, and donors. Support a strong Board of Directors; serve as ex-officio of all committees; seek and build board involvement with strategic direction alongside the Board Chair. Oversee all Human Resource functions for efficient operations, maintain a strong, positive culture that attracts and retains staff. Assist the Program Manager with DHS licensing and compliance. Create the annual budget with the Finance Committee and brings it to the Board for approval. Acts as SIP (sensitive information person) for our DHS licensing. Oversee all IH communications, both in print and electronic. Build relationships with the community and partner agencies, promoting the work of Ivy House. Fundraising Expand donations from local fundraisers to support existing operations and prepare for future expansion. Deepen relationships with donors and further develop the major giving program. Grants: Maintain good relationships with current foundations, writing new grants with the Program Manger and reporting to foundations on progress. Cultivate new sources of grant dollars. Work with the Development Committee to create an annual development plan to meet the funding needs of the organization. QUALIFICATIONS: The ED will be thoroughly committed to Ivy House’s mission and passionate about showing Jesus’ love by serving families in need. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people. EDUCATION Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, in Human Services, Nonprofit Management, or related field. Background of work with family systems and/or child development Knowledge of DHS licensed facility management preferred. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality. Ability to work as part of a team and provide team leadership. Basic computer skills. Ability to manage crisis situations effectively and problem solve.
