Position Summary
Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, named in honor of Benjamin Franklin, is the heart of UGA's liberal arts learning environment. The research, scholarship and creative output by the faculty and students in more than 80-degree programs set the place for a dynamic environment at Georgia's flagship institution.
The Student Experience Manager ( SXM ), reporting to the Senior Associate Dean, will be instrumental in building a strong student community within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. This position will develop and execute engagement activities for students that are a pivotal part of an enriched collegiate experience. The SXM will share the benefits and philosophy of an arts and sciences degree with prospective students, new and transfers, as well as parents. Overseeing a group of 50+ student ambassadors, the SXM will coordinate ambassador involvement in various activities across the college, including social media, events, and alumni and donor visits. The ideal candidate loves to communicate, is adaptable, and possesses a strong commitment to student success. Given the size and complex nature of the Franklin College, it is critical that the Student Engagement Coordinator work closely with the Office of Student Academic Services, the Office of Marketing and Communications as well as the Development and Alumni relations team.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Management: Lead events from conception to completion, collaborating with a range of stakeholders, for the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences' student population of over 11,000 students. Activities, events, and projects designed to create an on-going atmosphere of care, concern, and goal attainment for students. Events may take place during non-standard work hours.
Innovative Strategy Development: Brainstorm and implement innovative ideas and strategies to increase engagement and student community.
Data Management and Analysis: Build and manage data capture mechanisms, conduct routine analysis, and provide actionable insights to drive decision-making for future events and engagements.

Ambassador Program Coordinator
• Manage and enhance the Ambassador Program within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, including recruiting, training, and overseeing student ambassadors, as well as coordinating their involvement in various college activities to promote student engagement and community building.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the Ambassador Program, ensuring it meets the college's goals and objectives.
• Foster a sense of community among student ambassadors and encourage their active participation in college activities.
• Work closely with faculty, staff, and other departments to integrate the Ambassador Program into broader college initiatives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for student ambassadors, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Collect feedback and data to assess the effectiveness of the Ambassador Program and make recommendations for improvements.

Community Building and Event Management
• Develop programming and activities that strengthen the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences student community and enrich the overall collegiate experience.
• Independently manage the planning, organizing, and execution of events ranging of 15+ attendees. Provide onsite leadership and coordination.
• Assist with the logistics of multi-day Orientation and Graduation activities.
• Work closely with directors, project managers and student leaders to promote inclusive community programming and enhance student experiences. Collect and analyze metrics post-event to evaluate program success and recommend improvements for future events. Ensure compliance with UGA event policies, especially those related to serving alcoholic beverages.

Student and Parent Liaison
• Champion the benefits and philosophy of an arts and sciences degree when talking with new, prospective and transfer students, as well as their parents.
• Assist with information sessions and visits for prospective students and their parents, highlighting the advantages of an arts and sciences education and ensuring they receive comprehensive information about the college's offerings.
• Advocate for the needs and interests of new and transfer students, helping them navigate the transition to college life.
• Work with the Marketing and Communications team to develop and distribute informational materials that outline the benefits of a degree from the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.
• Work closely with the Office of Student Academic Services to ensure a cohesive and supportive experience for new and transfer students.
