The Central Booking Unit is seeking to fill Fingerprint Technicians positions. This position compares and verify fingerprints using the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). Responsibilities include processing fingerprints for all prisoners brought into the city's Central Booking Unit as well as applicants for city employment, identification purposes, licensee applicants and suspects. Work is performed within specific time constraints based on law enforcement guidelines.
Work Location: Central Booking Detail, 3443 S. Central Ave., Phoenix.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
• Knowledge of various law enforcement databases (i.e., RMS, CAD, ACIC, NCIC, and ACJIS). Ability to use programs such as MS Word and Excel, Outlook and calendaring systems.

• Ability to type at a minimum of 30 wpm.
SALARY
Pay Range: $23.74 per hour to $31.82 per hour.
Hiring Range: $23.74 per hour to $26.18 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications
• One year of experience performing specialized clerical work involving the receipt, filing, and maintenance of files and records related to criminal justice activities.
• Including six months of experience in the classification of fingerprints and the ability to do general typing,
• plus completion of training in fingerprint identification techniques.
• Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

• Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.
