Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Sleep Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting sleep studies and assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. You will work closely with patients to ensure their comfort and safety during testing, while accurately collecting and analyzing data related to their sleep patterns. Responsibilities Conduct overnight sleep studies and daytime polysomnography as per established protocols. Monitor patients’ vital signs throughout the study, ensuring adherence to safety standards. Prepare patients for testing by explaining procedures and answering any questions they may have. Utilize medical equipment to record physiological data during sleep studies, including brain waves, oxygen levels, heart rate, and breathing patterns. Analyze data collected during studies to assist in the diagnostic evaluation of sleep disorders. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans based on study results. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with medical standards. Stay updated on advancements in sleep medicine and participate in ongoing training as necessary. Skills Proficient knowledge of vital signs monitoring and interpretation. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to sleep medicine. Experience working in a sleep center or similar healthcare environment is preferred. Ability to perform physical examinations and assess patient conditions effectively. Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation techniques used in sleep studies. Knowledge of respiratory therapy principles as they relate to sleep disorders is a plus. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.
