Assistant Miller- 2nd shift $23/hour Responsibilities : Operate the transfer, cleaning house and tempering equipment to fulfill the requirements of the mill-run schedule and in strict adherence to the sampling requirements in the PRP program. Perform sanitation duties, as assigned as listed on the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) or as needed/assigned. Be trained to, and "STEP-UP" into a Miller's position filling in for vacancies as they occur and as needed. Maximize milling efficiencies in the plant daily by focusing on adjustment and operation of cleaning house and mill equipment. Monitor the entire milling process and perform basic equipment maintenance/troubleshooting tasks for all equipment related to the operation of the mill Maintain sanitation standards, in accordance with policies, to provide for a safe and food safe work environment Maintain all tools/equipment and execute processes in the 5S, Pristine AMPS standards using process tools such as Centerline, 5S, understanding loss through 5why to create continuous improvement process by determining Root Cause and Corrective Actions. Use computers to operate mill equipment, document production reports, shift reports, including mill and maintenance issues Interact with scheduler, elevator, blender, quality team, maintenance, and packer to communicate workflow, milling schedule, and equipment issues. Assist in operations on an as needed basis as directed by the Miller / Head Miller. After trained/dependent, will cross train as an Assistant Miller, Shift Miller, and other departments. Be available for overtime as required. Be trained in and performance of mill Preventive Maintenance (PM). Be trained in 5S and pristine to keep the department headed to audit ready 24/7. Actively participate in department and facility teams relating to the improvement of plant safety, quality and efficiency. Perform any tasks reasonably assigned.
