Job Summary The Area Sales Manager is responsible for home hotel in addition to those assigned in the employee’s “area”. The Area Sales MManager will guide teams and prospect, facilitate and close Corporate Negotiated and group business opportunities. Duties and Responsibilities Including, but not limited to: 1. Provide pricing and guidance recommendations to sales staff, review and approve any special corporate negotiated rates 2. Responsible for learning the hotel brand and strategy 3. Develop a working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including food and beverage, guest services, reservations 4. Drive customer loyalty to grow share of the account by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience 5. Manage group or business travel accounts in assigned market segments to maximize business potential 6. Negotiate group business, guest room rates, meeting room rental, and hotel services within assigned markets that meets or exceeds hotel revenue goals 7. Negotiate contracts according to company standards 8. Manage RFP Season Annually by facilitating the process as outlined inStrand SOP’s in conjunction with the GM 9. Review weekly and Monthly reports to ensure all pertinent aspects of solicitation, closing, and customer communications are complete and documented 10. Analyze sales and revenue management reports to identify trends and future demand opportunities. Monitor pricing, MAR and other minimums to ensure pricing is within an acceptable range based on available inventory, current sales/revenue strategies and market demand 11. Work with sales managers to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of the strategies for each segment 12. Attend and contribute to revenue and sales strategy meetings and calls as available 13. Participates in budgeting for revenue and expenses during the annualbudget process for assigned hotels 14. Understand, leverage, and implement corporate and brand tools to exceed budgets 15. Conduct ongoing competitor price and product analysis to ensure properrate positioning and product offering relative to competition 16. Recommend and implement new sales programs at the hotel and accurately track ROI 17. Set and monitor team member goals including weekly sales activities, room night and revenue goals monthly, quarterly, yearly 18. Provides ongoing feedback, training and development of team members and addresses areas of opportunity 19. Provide continual analysis of lost business reasons and notify property and corporate of on-going trends 20. Coordinate, prepare, and submit any required reports as requested by the Corporate Director of Sales 21. Work with the Regional Director of Operations, Corporate Director of Sales, and Director of Revenue Management 22. Abides by Prime Time Selling hours 23.
