ST. JOSEPH PEACE MISSION FOR CHILDREN, INC PROGRAM SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION General Duties The Program Supervisor assumes the regular duties of residential staff with additional duties. These responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: A. PS is to provide supportive direction and control over the Home. This will involve the protection of residents from being physically threatened or injured, sexually exploited, or severely verbally harassed by a more aggressive combative resident. B. The PS is to supervise the residents’ chores and assist in maintaining the Home in a clean orderly fashion. C. The PS is expected to present a positive role model to the residents through their appearance, behavior, and attitude. D. PS will prepare meals for the residents based on the posted menus. Substitutions may be made based on the age of residents, illnesses of residents, or if the item is not available in the home pantry. If residents are assisting in the kitchen area, they are to be assisted and supervised by the RS. RS should strive to maintain a pleasant social environment during each meal. Residents are also to be supervised and assisted when cleaning the kitchen, doing the dishes, etc. after meals and snacks. E. The PS is to supervise the residents under the home's policies and procedures to know where each resident is at any given time. F. The PS is to see that any visitor to the Home is signed in and that the visitor conducts him or herself appropriately, which does not cause stress or disturbance to the residents. G. The PS is expected to maintain communication with the Executive Director and Treatment Director providing him/her with information on both the residents and the operation of the Home and alerting them to potential problems or concerns. H. The PS is expected to assist the residents in maintaining good personal hygiene and seeing that their clothes are clean and they are dressed appropriately for school, social, and recreational activities. I. The PS is responsible for seeing that they have read and understood the Home’s Fire Safety and disaster plans and that they comply with the appropriate procedures when confronted with an emergency. J. PS will plan and participate in the Home, school, and community activities based on the residents’ age and abilities. K. The PS is responsible for overseeing the residents taking of medication and documenting that he/she has taken it. PROGRAM SUPERVISOR – Level 2 Specific Duties: L. Supervision of childcare staff to ensure effective service delivery of the program. M. Monitoring of resident records. N. Assistance with agency reports for compliance and quality improvement. O. Assistance with work scheduling to meet regulatory requirements. P. Assistance with identification and scheduling of staff training. Q. Oversight and assistance with meal planning, food and supply shopping, and maintenance of facilities. R. All other duties as assigned.
