As a Tax Training Specialist, you will invest in people by developing exceptional technically trained tax professionals throughout their careers from intern to partner. You will be responsible for designing, developing, curating, and working with subject matter experts to deliver training programs for our tax professionals to enhance their technical expertise resulting in efficiency, consistency, and innovation. Growth & Development: We get better every day. Key responsibilities include: Develop and facilitate delivery of tax department technical training when onboarding new staff. Build relationships with new staff through orientation activities and first year check-ins to ensure on-track development. Conduct regular needs assessments within the tax department and work with internal subject matter experts to develop internal training or soliciting external content allowing tax staff to pursue career development paths and remain current on technical tax topics. Cultivate the Abdo learning culture by developing an easily accessible library of technical training resources including things such as self-study courses within our LMS, video tutorials, how-to and process guides, and reference sheets. Serve as a training resource when addressing skill needs of specific tax staff on an as needed basis. This includes being available to assist learners post-training as they apply knowledge to client work. Partner with the Director of Learning and Development to develop Abdo University curriculum and events. Stay current on tax law and internal processes and assist tax department staff in communicating to all tax staff. Other duties as assigned Ideal candidate has: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required 3+ years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax accounting and consulting required or relevant experience teaching tax topics Experience teaching tax or audit topics to individuals or groups preferred.
