HR Generalist Department: Human Resources Reports To: HR Manager Job Status: Full Time Amount of Travel Required: None Positions Supervised: None Work Schedule: Monday – Friday POSITION SUMMARY Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Department in compliancy reporting, daily functions of Human Resources Department, and directing employees on how to find benefit information including how to navigate benefits website. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assist HR manager in wellness program. Assist with benefit mailings, enrollments, and communication. Explain benefit package to drivers and answer questions as they arise such as setting appointments for benefit counselors and how to enroll. Issuing information for ancillary benefit services to employees. Driver reviews, employee notices and notifying driver of their review. I-9 compliancy and tracking. Assist with EEO-1 reporting. Switch paperwork (L/P to company or company to L/P). Employment letters requested by drivers. Active member of the driver mentor program. Back up for VOE’s and retention calls. State separation notices. Exit interviews. Process driver terminations in AS400, weekly separation report and Tenstreet. Assist HR Manager with responding to subpoenas and record requests. Back up for Switchboard. Performs other duties as assigned or directed by HR Manager. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education Associate’s degree in business management or similar. Experience 1-2 years’ experience in Human Resources Generalist role or equivalent of related education and work experience. Transportation knowledge is preferred. SKILLS & ABILITIES Experience with interviewing. EEOC guidelines. EEO-1 reporting. Computer Skills Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite. AS/400 experience not required but preferred. Other Requirements Ability to type a minimum of 35 wpm. Able to read, write, and speak the English language fluently. Solid presentation skills. Good verbal and written communications skills. Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive personal information (i.e. social security numbers, telephone numbers, addresses, banking info).
