Job Description
Title: Controls Engineer

Position Summary:
This position performs engineering work related to research, designing, and development of new products and interfacing the controls systems related to Genset operation.
Key Accountabilities:
• Supports project design and development associated with new or existing products.
• Analyzing manufacturer's wiring drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, data sheets and similar drawings
• Researching and comprehending requirements from various engineering standards, contracts, and proposal documents
• Utilizing proper design principles and tools for new product development and/or product improvements
• Reviewing and comparing customer specifications against MTU designs and equipment vendor proposals.
• Complete work according to standard engineering principles and practices
• Responsible for following the ERP procedures per the company’s quality system.
• Preparing basic engineering calculations and drawings in accordance with applicable electrical codes, contract requirements, while utilizing industry standard/MTU adopted symbology and naming convention.
• Preparing draft level equipment specifications for major electrical equipment
• Promotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
• Perform other special customer projects and as required.
Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3 years of engineering experience in controls, automation or Genset manufacturing; or 7 years of engineering experience in controls, automation or Genset Manufacturing
• Good Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Knowledge in Java/C++, HTML, CSS, Python Scripting. and APIs
• Knowledge in SQL, Influx DB, or any other Database system
• Good experience in implementation of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
• Good experience in Ignition/Open Source Web based SCADA HMI systems is desired
• Good programming: PLC and structure text programming, scripted languages
• Power systems: fundamentals, paralleling system management, power electronics
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, line drawings and ladder diagrams.
