System Technician
Harry Meyering Center supports people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their homes and community.
Overview: The Systems Technician provides assistanceto all HMC Team Members regarding technology issues and updates at all locations. Direct and coordinate various computer, networking, and telecommunications projects. Research, review, propose, and implement new information technology according to policy.
Schedule: Full-Time. Typically, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, but flexible to meet business needs.
Wage: $23.50 per hour.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide assistance to HMC Team Members in a genuine and respectful manner while maintaining professional boundaries
• Ability to work as a team with internal team members and external vendors
• Work with the Director of Operations to develop the annual technology plan and technology budget.
• Configure, monitor, maintain, and manage applications such as Microsoft Suites, Microsoft 365, Therap, etc
• Review, validate, and deploy software updates during application rollout to the production environment.
• Collaborate and consult with key stakeholders with other managers in structuring and development of application requirements.
• Train and provide technical support to users
• Maintain network environment
• Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures for technology platforms
• Maintain accurate accounting of all agency computers, cell phones, tablets, printers, etc
• Update and maintain HMC website(s)
• Maintain a working knowledge of, and ability to support server, copier, fax and other office equipment
• Assist the Director of Operations in planning, facilitating, and participating in quality improvement activities for the IT system.
• At the discretion of the Director of Operations review, provide feedback, and implement service agreements with vendors.
• Monitor and survey trends, emerging technologies, issues, and approaches in healthcare information technology (HIT) to proactively innovate
• Bring forward to the Director of Operations any potential risks or threats, perceived or actual, to the integrity and ability of continuous business operations or HMC data systems.
• Act as the Privacy Officer for HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain HIPAA Compliance in all written or verbal communications, both external and internal to HMC
• Schedule and attend all staff meetings and complete all the required training courses.

Qualifications
Preferred:
• Associate's degree or certificate from college or technical school in Network Services, Information Technology, or related area of study, plus six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
Required:
• 1-3 years of experience working in a systems tech environment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and have ahigh school diploma or general education degree
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including theability to effectively communicate with co-workers
• Must be self-motivated and exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills, able to problem solve and respond effectively to emergencies
• Must have an advanced knowledge of technology programs. IE: Microsoft Office/Office 365 products, Windows Server, Internet Information Server, Exchange, Webroot, Barracuda, Zix ONE, Therap, CISCO Meraki products, Checkpoint Encryption, WordPress, basic programming skills (PHP, HTML, VB Script), VOIP (Digium Phone System), knowledge of networking, cabling and Wi-Fi
• Excellent attention to detail, good time management, and organizational skills
• Demonstrates a proactive and positive approach to challenges
• Set priorities and meet deadlines
• Displays excellent troubleshooting skills, presenting/training ability, and ability to multi-task
• Must work withcolleagues and can work independently to carry out job duties as assigned.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and pass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier
• Must pass an MN Department of Human Services Background Study
