Job Functions :
• Direct, coordinate and monitor the activities of hourly employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.
• Manage the flow of materials with other departments and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
• Manage the receipt of materials following appropriate ERP processes.
• Manage incoming and outgoing.
• Adherer to cycle counting process, compliance with inventory control programs.
• Comply with audit requirements and processes.
• Identify and resolve inventory discrepancy issues.
• Develops new material control processes to reduce cycle time and improve first pass yield
• Lead continuous improvement activities including identifying and implementing changes in working conditions, use of equipment to increase efficiency of warehouses, material flow, department, and staff. Ongoing inventory sizing and forecasting activities with planners.
• Manage departmental overtime and attendance records
• Assign, direct, and evaluate employee work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
• Administer personnel policies and procedures to workers and enforce safety regulations
• Communicate to senior management of progress, developments and pending problems
• Monitor expenses versus budget on an on-going basis
• Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services
• Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
• Perform special projects as required
Basic Qualifications :
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Change Management, or Materials Management and 5 years of experience in materials management, procurement or warehouse management; or 9 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or warehouse management.
• Excellent leadership and ability to manage a team of resources
• Excellent knowledge of production planning
• Excellent knowledge of warehousing management, logistics, inventory control, supply chain, and material movement
• Excellent knowledge of material handling processes and continuous improvement actions
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical project management and problem-solving ability
• Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications :
• Familiar with plant operations and equipment
• Knowledge of manufacturing process flow
• Extensive Experience with ERP systems, i.e. SAP
Work Environment :
While performing duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to stoop, reach, crouch, and squat. Employee is occasionally required to handle and / or grasp medium and large items within the work environment. Also, employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to manipulate small items such as a keyboard or mouse. Finally, an employee is also occasionally required to walk within the work environment.
