Condux International, Inc. is the premier manufacturer of underground and overhead cable installation tools and equipment for the IT, telecom and electric power industries. Condux machines allow safe, quick and easy installation of fiber optic and power cables.
Condux manufactures a wide variety of equipment an installer needs to put fiber optic cable or power cable in the ground or up a pole. With everything from fiber optic blowers to diesel powered underground bull-wheel cable pullers. Condux International is privately owned and has been manufacturing cable installation tools and equipment for over 30 years, working directly with the electrical contracting, electrical utility, IT and telecom industries.
Position Purpose: The Buyer is responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the company’s needs for raw materials, services, fixed assets and tooling, secured at cost, quality and delivery competitive levels consistent with company policy and industry performance standards.
Position Summary: The primary job of the Buyer is to manage the purchasing function of materials and supplies to ensure purchasing at the optimal quality and price to meet operational and customer requirements. Place orders and follow up to ensure accuracy and timeliness of delivery. Responsible for delivering excellent customer service to achieve customer / vendor satisfaction. Evaluate supplier performance, conduct site visits and work closely with engineering and quality to ensure vendors are meeting requirements.
Essential Duties:
1. Source raw materials, manufactured products, services, and consumables as required for efficient business operation and customer demand.
2. Selects suppliers based on competitiveness, quality, and compatibility with our companies values
3. Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain and to mitigate risk factors.
4. Maintains safety stock quantities of supplies and materials to optimize production.
5. Analyzes current inventories and procedures, suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company
6. Works with vendors and logistics to identify optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution
7. Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
8. Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments
9. Ability to multitask and performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements
Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
1. 2+ years in a professional Buyer position for a manufacturing company
2. Excellent interpersonal communication skills (oral, written and presentation) with the ability to manage technical and complex data
3. Strong orientation for detail, organization and high-quality standards
4. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with people at all levels both internally and externally
5. Working knowledge of ERP
6. Strong knowledge of the concepts of logistics, vendor management, price negotiation
7. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with an eye for prioritization
8. Positive attitude, collaborative, and adept at every changing priority
