Field Quality Engineer
Job Title: Field Quality Engineer – Distribution Transformers
Location: [Location] | Travel: 25-30%
Are you passionate about quality engineering and eager to work directly with customers to solve real-world problems? Our client is looking for a Field Quality Engineer to join their team and take ownership of quality assurance for their distribution transformer product line. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring that their products meet the highest standards, resolving customer concerns, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to product quality, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct on-site quality audits at customer sites to assess performance and compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with the client’s engineering and manufacturing teams to drive product and process improvements based on field feedback.
• Lead cross-functional teams in failure analysis and enhance product reliability.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive databases of customer complaints and resolutions for trend analysis.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on quality issues, corrective actions, and outcomes.
• Support and train customers and service teams on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, with a strong preference for experience in distribution transformers or electrical equipment manufacturing.
• Proven ability to handle customer complaints, conduct field assessments, and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a deep understanding of distribution transformers and electrical systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 25-30% to customer sites.
• Proficiency in data analysis and quality management software tools.
