Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced General Motors Service Manager to oversee our service department operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive repair and management, ensuring high-quality service delivery while leading a team of skilled technicians. This role is crucial in maintaining customer satisfaction and operational efficiency within our dealership. Duties - Manage daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service. - Supervise and mentor service technicians, providing guidance on vehicle maintenance and repair procedures. - Oversee service writing processes, ensuring accurate documentation of customer requests and technician recommendations. - Coordinate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of necessary components for repairs. - Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and dealership policies. - Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, striving to resolve issues promptly. - Analyze service department performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, vehicle maintenance practices, and emerging technologies. Experience -GM IS A PLUS - Proven experience in auto service management or a similar role within a dealership environment. - Strong technical knowledge of automotive repair processes, including diesel engine repair, air brake systems, and general vehicle maintenance. - Familiarity with service writing software and tools used in automotive service management. - Previous experience as a mechanic or service technician is highly desirable. - Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members. - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and staff alike. - Ability to align departmental goals with overall business objectives while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
