Job Summary :
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, and other equipment to maintain and increase the flow of production.
ESENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Weekend Shift
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
• Repairs electrical equipment.
• Remove and install new equipment as needed.
• Take a proactive role in assuring safe, quality products are produced by immediately addressing any safety or quality concerns.
• Other duties may be assigned on occasion at the request of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Qualifications and Demands :
• Must be able to work at least (8+) hours per day 6 days per week, some weekends, and be on weekend rotation call duty.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess good reading and writing skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with coworkers on an individual or team basis.
• Must possess basic mathematical skills and be able to compute rate , ratio , and percent , as well as to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Must also be able to attend different seminars, vocational trainings, and specialized schools to enhance understanding of technology being used within the company.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6 months minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
