Engineering Manager
Applied Resource Group is hiring an Engineering Manager that will be responsible for planning, designing, and managing engineering projects, overseeing budgets, and leading the engineering team. This position involves defining and maintaining battery manufacturing processes while driving innovation to ensure product quality and cost-efficiency. The manager will coordinate the integration of materials and equipment to optimize production while maintaining safety standards. This role also includes supervising the daily operations of the engineering department and managing talent development within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enforce company policies, ensuring all safety regulations are upheld with the goal of zero injuries.
• Oversee training and development initiatives for the engineering team.
• Provide clear guidance to team members and verify the technical accuracy of their work.
• Manage all engineering activities related to plant operations, including cost analysis, quotations, and project scopes.
• Collaborate with production to enhance throughput, ergonomics, and create a safe work environment.
• Establish a cohesive team environment to ensure projects are completed efficiently.
• Ensure adherence to the company’s process and program management systems to meet project timelines and budgets.
• Work closely with external vendors and contractors to ensure project completion and adherence to timelines.
• Oversee engineering changes from quote to implementation and maintain a working knowledge of all ongoing projects.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes to improve product performance, workforce utilization, and equipment layouts.
• Collaborate with the corporate engineering team to align product specifications with equipment and material capabilities.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
• Manage capital projects to ensure successful machine and equipment installations.
• Develop labor standards through work measurement programs and project planning.
• Adhere to quality system requirements and lean manufacturing principles.
• Perform additional duties and lead projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
• A minimum of five years’ experience in a managerial engineering role or equivalent.
• Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
Skills Required:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills for managing staff and coordinating with other departments.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills for handling multiple tasks, budgets, and schedules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
• Familiarity with CAD systems is a plus.
Travel:
• Travel may be required based on company needs.
