Our medical device client is seeking two experienced Chemical Scientists/Operators to join their new business unit. The team is focused on running pilot-scale reactors to evaluate process improvements and assess raw materials for chemical process changes. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in chemical manufacturing operations, particularly within the medical device or pharmaceutical industries, to play a pivotal role in scaling up our site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support pilot-scale reactor operations, including unit changes and process chemical adjustments.
• Participate in evaluating and implementing process improvement projects and initiatives.
• Assess and evaluate raw materials for process chemical changes.
• Operate and manage valves and other controls on the reactor system, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
• Monitor and manage metrics and milestones to ensure project goals are met.
• Work shifts during pilot runs (1-2 weeks per month) to provide 24-hour reactor operation coverage, with a regular daytime schedule during non-pilot weeks.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Previous experience in manufacturing operations within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or a combined device background.
• Hands-on experience in chemical plant operations, including the opening and closing of valves and process management on a small scale.
• Comfortable with shift work and maintaining consistent focus on metrics and milestones.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
Schedule:
• During pilot runs: Shift work required to maintain 24-hour reactor operation.
• Non-pilot weeks: Regular daytime schedule.
