Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
This incumbent is responsible for all aspects of maintaining the College of Pharmacy's two buildings (Wilson Pharmacy Building and Pharmacy South), including building maintenance and safety, overseeing new construction and renovation projects, keys and electronic building access, manage building maintenance at our distant sites in Augusta, Savannah, and Albany, as needed, and College vehicles.

• General knowledge of building maintenance, including reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics;.
• Ability to communicate effective verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work with faculty, staff, and students with regard to requests involving maintenance, safety, event set up, keys, and vehicles.
Physical Demands
• Lift and transport tables, chairs and other equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
• Climbing ladders, stooping/bending, prolonged standing, reaching and working in tight places on a daily basis.
• Occasional driving/travel as needed to perform job duties.

Maintain Physical Facilities:
• Inspect, assess, report, coordinate and follow up on building maintenance, furnishing, appliance and custodial problems at the College's Athens facilities.
• Track all facility related KACE tickets and respond within 1 business day.
• Proactively inspect facilities and/or receive initial trouble information from occupants, assess conditions, report problems to Facilities Maintenance Division ( FMD ).
• Discuss complex problems with FMD personnel to provide information helpful or necessary for resolution.
• Coordinate scheduling and details of corrective work. Inspect and follow up as needed.
• Represent facilities on the appropriate College committee.
• Assist with policy and procedure development for assigned responsibilities.
• Maintain a project list for all campuses and track project progress.
• Provide regular updates to the Associate Dean for Science Education, Research and Technology.
• Represent the College in project management activities involving building renovation and major equipment installations at the College's Athens facilities. Communicate and meet with College, Office of University Architects, FMD and contractor personnel to plan, secure estimates and engineering review.
• Communicate and meet with Office of University Architects, FMD and contractor personnel to manage and schedule ongoing work and to insure that completed work meets College requirements.
• Specify, purchase and maintain stocks of folding tables, chairs, moving equipment, ladders, hand tools and supplies for use in supporting College operations.
• Develop and maintains a preventative maintenance schedule for major items including, but not limited to: major furnishings replacement, pressure washing of buildings, sidewalks, and courtyard, window washing, etc.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate logistics and custodial services in support of College operations utilizing student workers or FMD logistics and custodial personnel.
• Services range from table and chair set ups and custodial support for special events to major office and lab relocations.
• Works with grounds to ensure trees and shrubs are maintained if needed or in advance for special events.
• Coordinate with FMD Engineering Department in maintaining accurate facilities inventory use data and drawings.
• Provide use data and drawings for administrative needs in the College and for completion of the periodic space survey required as part of the indirect cost negotiation between UGA and the Federal Government.
• Specify, purchase and deploy signage in the buildings.
• Responsible for the appropriate expenditure of Facilities Management account.
• Assist the Associate Dean for Science Education, Research and Technology in managing or preparing budget items related to repairs, maintenance and future facility needs.
• Proactively project future facility needs and solicit bids for budget development, one-time budget requests and year end expenses.

Access Control:
• Manage building keying.
• In consultation with college administrators and FMD Key Shop personnel, take lead role in planning and implementation of necessary changes to ensure appropriate keying of the College's Athens facilities including periodic complete re-keying of buildings.
• Maintain room keying and key assignment database.
• Maintain stocks of keys for issue to personnel. Issue appropriate keys to college personnel and coordinate with College Human Resources to recover keys from terminating personnel.
• Manage electronic access control system for the College's Athens facilities.
• In consultation with College administrators, establish and adjust routine door lock and alarm schedules.
• Program door lock/unlock and alarm schedules for special events, holidays, emergencies and after-hours construction work as needed.
• Add and remove access permissions to specific doors for College Personnel as appropriate.
• Coordinate with UGA Card Office management and FMD IT to resolve occasional database issues involving UGA cards held by College personnel.
• Serve as principal 24/7 liaison to UGA PD during police investigation of alarm activations.
• Analyze alarm activation trends on specific doors that point to mechanical malfunctions, report to FMD and coordinate with FMD technicians and IT staff to insure correction of problems.

Duties/Responsibilities
Facility Safety:
• Serve as the College's Primary Safety & Security Representative ( BSSR ) to the UGA Office of Security and Emergency Preparedness ( OSEP ) with 24/7 emergency response responsibility.
• Serve as the Chair of the Building Safety Team charged with developing and maintaining Building Emergency Action Plans for the College's Athens facilities.
• Disseminate information related to building safety, shelters, etc.
• Maintain and post building safety signage.
• Work with extended campus staff and faculty to ensure BEAPS and safety signage are updated.
• If issues arise on these campuses work with Extended Campus Coordinator, Extended Campus staff and the Associate Dean for Science Education, Research and Technology to facilitate resolution.
• Serve Ex-Officio on the College Facilities & Safety Committee.
• Work with College, UGA Environmental Safety Division and FMD personnel in discovering, investigating, reporting and following up on physical facilities related to safety and odor problems in the College's Athens facilities.
• Work with the College Faculty and Staff in facilitating annual Laboratory Inspections in College's Athens and Augusta facilities previously conducted by UGA Environmental Safety Division.
• Monitor College VOC sensors and report any unusual readings to appropriate College Administrators and/or UGA Environmental Safety Division.
• Monitor College security camera system and report any unusual events to appropriate College Administrators and/or UGA Public Safety.
• Request and coordinate Environmental Safety Division Testing as necessary to assure safety of FMD personnel conducting repairs in potentially contaminated laboratory related systems.

Maintain College Vehicles:
• Coordinate College vehicle maintenance for the College's Athens based vehicles.
• Keep vehicles current on regular maintenance. Receive and evaluate trouble reports, arrange for repairs.
• Maintain odometer records/logs.
• Assess need for and recommend purchase of replacement vehicles.
• Facilitate movement of vehicles to and from UGA motor vehicle maintenance, remote parking for football home games and periodic washing of vehicles.
