CAD_GIS Intern
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the CAD-BIM Manager, the CAD-GIS Intern is responsible for supporting HCAA’s development of the utility atlas for Tampa Airport. These duties include digitizing GIS maps, entering metadata to feature layers, and verifying the location and accuracy of utilities in maps using ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcGIS online software.
The intern will be assigned specific tasks such as digitalization of points, lines and polygons, and entering construction document information into GIS feature layers, overlaying construction documents and GIS data for the location of features assessment, etc. This position will work 15-20 hours per week through December.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work with the CAD and GIS team at Tampa Airport
Supporting CAD-GIS duties related to the development of the utilities atlas.
Read construction documents and extract information to feature layers.
QA/QC the different utilities disciplines.
Work with diverse staff in working groups focused on CAD and GIS
COMPENSATION
Hurly rate of $22.00 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS)
· Practical experience with GIS, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online, knowledge of CAD is a plus.
· Basic knowledge of geodatabases.
· Strong graphic and mapping capabilities.
· Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university environmental sciences (GIS), engineering architecture (CAD), or related fields.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Proficient in using Windows and Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Projects, and Outlook).
