Description
The primary responsibility of the Clinic Nurse is to coordinate the Nurse and Physician Clinic providing care for the Residents and initial employees – i.e. medical and dental offices, foot care and employee health including new employee health assessments and evaluation of job-related injuries. In addition, being responsible for responding to “off-the-hook” phone calls for the Village, assessment of residents and coordination of extra duty sitter program ensuring all requirements are met.
Qualifications:
• Current licensed nurse with the Virginia Board of Nursing.
• Must have a minimum of two to five years related experience.
• Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its’ integrity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong phone etiquette.
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and having good organizational skills.
• Strong customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach to engaging with all individuals.
Requirements
· Maintains the Nurse Clinic in an orderly fashion.
· Manages the Physician Clinics according to schedule.
· New Employee health assessment duties.
· Village and Residential Center PPD duties.
· Completes quarterly health assessment reviews on Residential Center Residents.
· Transcribes doctors’ orders accurately.
· Conducts Flu Vaccine Clinic annually.
· Keeps Health Services Director (DOHS), Health Services Assistant Director (ADOHS), and/or Management aware of significant Resident/employee problems.
· Attends in-service and staff meetings to meet all training requirements as required by regulations and Sunnyside Community.
· Displays safe working knowledge of all medical equipment needed for Resident care.
· Practices universal precautions
· Processes admissions, transfers, deaths and discharges as necessary.
· Possesses strong communications skills.
· Provides oversight supervision of the Assisted Living Unit and Catered Living Program to meet regulatory compliance.
· Monitors frequency of Physicians’ visits to the Health Care Unit to ensure compliance of regulations.
· Able to work under stressful conditions including medical emergencies.
· Performs AIMS (Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale) test on Assisted Living and Health Care Residents as recommended by pharmacy.
· Serves as RN Supervisor every other weekend.
