Job Summary Influences professional role development, competence, and professional growth of team members through simulation based training. Develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates simulation based education to support lifelong learning in an interprofessional environment that facilities continuous development and learning for the healthcare team.#Responsible for Simulation # Nurse Residency Program Coordination.# # Job Responsibilities Works collaboratively with nursing professional development practitioners, nursing and clinical leaders to develop, coordinate, implement and evalutate simulation-based education and events to meet organizational objectives. Creates learning objectives, case scenarios, program planning, evaluation tools to meet the needs of clinical departments assuring the quality and validity of the content. Constructs measurable objectives to drive the design, development, and approach for the simulation-based experience. Structures the format of the simulation based on the purpose, theory, and modality for the simulation-based experience i.e. formative and/or summative. Uses various types of fidelity to create the required perception of realism. Maintains a facilitative approach that is participant-centered and driven by objectives, participant#s knowledge or level of experience, and expected outcomes. Begins simulation-based experiences with a pre-briefing and follows with a debriefing and/or feedback session. Includes an evaluation of the participant(s), facilitator(s), the simulation-based experience, the facility, and the support team. Provides preparation materials and resources to promote participants# ability to meet identified objectives and achieve expected outcomes of the simulation-based experience. Determines expected outcomes for the simulation program consistent with the organization#s mission, vision, and strategic goals. Utilizes space, equipment, and personnel resources staying within budgetary guidelines. Creates policies and procedures to support and sustain the simulation program. Provides education and training to clinical educators and simulation team members. Adheres to evidence based standards regarding the provision of simulation education as outlined by the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSIH). Adheres to performance standards and professional requirements as outlined in the Nursing Professional Development: Scope Standards of Practice. Qualifications Bachelor#s degree or higher in Nursing required upon hire A minimum of 2 years# relevant experience required RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire AND BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required upon hire AND BLS instructor - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Instructor required within 180 days of employment in this position AND ACLS Instructor - Certified as an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Healthcare Instructor required within 180 days of employment in this position Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
