POSITION SUMMARY This position requires that approximately 75% of working hours be spent in direct care, including but not limited to individual therapy, group therapy and/or family therapy. Individual therapy sessions shall occur with each resident with a frequency of at least once per week for 1-2 hours per session. Group therapy shall occur at least weekly. Family therapy shall occur as family contact is permitted. Exposure will include a diverse population and age ranges with varying diagnoses. Treatment plans will be created within one week of admittance and updated monthly. The treatment director shall collaborate with referral sources as well as community agencies, as needed. This position is also accountable for completing a biopsychosocial history on admittance as well as administering assessments for diagnosis. The Treatment Director will attend weekly case meetings. Treatment modalities may include but are not limited to, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, family centered treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy and cognitive processing therapy. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Overall clinical oversight and supervision to clinical staff as well as direct care staff in the delivery of behavioral and mental health services to residents. · Provide or ensure that individual therapy sessions are delivered to all residents as regulations require. · Provide or ensure that family therapy sessions are delivered to all residents as regulations require and as family contact/involvement permits. · Crisis management for residents. · Coordinate and provide group therapy for residents as required by regulations. · Update and maintain individualized treatment plans at least once monthly. · Insure that the Psychosocial Assessment is completed upon admission. · Work with the Management Team to receive and respond to all referrals and admissions. · Coordinate and participate with documentation entry into the following systems: o DCBS – TWIST System o DCBS – NYTD System o Children’s Review Program – ALP and CBCL/Reiss · Maintain and uphold the facility to the required standards for State Licensure and CARF Accreditation to ensure performance measures are met. · Stay up to date on trends in standards of behavioral and mental health providers. Including, but not limited to diagnosis and treatment, staff training, and clinical interventions. · Provide assistance to Executive Director and/or Management Team with other agency programs and daily operations including records systems, billing systems, technology, and human resources. · Adjustments to program models as necessary to improve or expand care. · Participate in IEP meetings at school when needed. · As necessary, participate in “Parent/Teacher” Conferences at school regarding academic performance. Speak with school principals regarding any potential behavior issues. · Educate and supervise staff members on appropriate interventions with residents when they are experiencing some degree of crisis. · Coordinate with Case Manager and Program Supervisor for communication with social workers, parents and/or guardians. · As requested, participate in person or via telephone in all Citizen Foster Care Review Board (Interested Party Reviews) for case review of residents. · Participate in all resident court dates when required. · Work with Program Supervisor and Youth Care Staff to develop consequences and rewards for youth when a situation arises that is not addressed by the existing program model. · Provide necessary referrals for resident services. · Participate and/ or organize educational opportunities for staff and community. · All other duties as assigned.
