Car parts manufacturer for Toyota, Subaru, and Lexus. The Team Member/Production Worker position's purpose is to function in one of three areas as needed, to safely and efficiently produce quality metal products for the automotive industry. The three areas include: Stamping, Conveyance and Welding. All positions will undergo a training period and will follow standard work instructions. Stamping: Sets up and participates in the operation of power press that automatically feeds blanks and continuous roll of sheet metal into position. Sets up specified dies in press, using hand tools. Using computer, adjusts stroke of press and synchronizes action of feed bar or pinch rollers with feed conveyor. Threads metal strip from play-out reel through pinch rollers or loads hopper or conveyor with metal blanks. Offloads completed parts, inspecting and stacking in totes and bins in specific quantities and manner to be distributed by other Team Members. Also includes Crane Operation. Conveyance: Performs any combination of following tasks to receive, store, and distribute materials and products to Production Workers in Welding and Stamping lines: reads production schedule and batch order to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Conveys materials and items from receiving, production areas and storage using hands, electric fork truck, tugger, or propane fork truck. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence with attention to kanban. Pushes Minomi' s onto and off of trailers and racks, as appropriate Monitors supply/demand as production varies to ensure continuous production. Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers. Compiles kanban slips from containers as process is completed. Welding: Tends spot and arc welding equipment that joins fasteners and metal components together: Manually positions workpiece against stops or on pins to align in machine. Places parts in and removes completed parts from machine that automatically welds. Observes operation of machine to detect malfunctioning, and reports malfunctions to supervisor. Inspects joined components for defects and test fits in jig per work protocol. May also use manually manipulated automatic welders to complete some processes. Moves part(s) from machine and places in process stages or onto rack/tote. Many processes considered in Welding include the assembly of parts that may include pressing, bolting and use of clips to complete parts. Performs "deconstruction" in specific areas to test and inspect finished product for quality of weld and assembly. Uses hammers, pry bars, torque wrench and air chisel to forcibly disassemble, either partially or completely, various parts that are welded together. 2nd shift 6:30pm to 6:30am $18.50-$23.00 an hour based on experience.
