Security Manager
Summary
The Security Manager is responsible for the successful execution of all Security operations as directed by the Director of Security and Surveillance. This includes ensuring property, facilities, and equipment maintain a safe and secure environment for all employees and patrons.
Specific Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage, supervise, direct, and perform activities designed to provide a safe, clean, and compliant environment for Owensboro Racing and Gaming team members and patrons as assigned.
• Ensure proper reporting of property incidents, including, but not limited to, Workers' Compensation and General Liability cases. Prepare detailed activity and related departmental reports as required.
• Manage, supervise, coordinate, and direct the work of assigned security staff.
• Meet departmental financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
• Lead supervisors and members through effective talent and performance management.
• Plan, schedule, and train employees regarding work assignments and general procedures.
• Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures, Special Post Orders, and directives as approved by the Director of Security and Surveillance.
• Manage emergencies, routine problems, and other security-related internal disputes involving gaming operations and personnel.
• Assume charge of all operations in the event of a security alert.
• Ensure that safe conditions are followed and maintained and that violations are reported.
• Prepare special reports and gather evidence and/or testimony for further action as required.
• Appear in hearings and provide testimony at various levels.
• Review reported violations, conduct investigations, and take appropriate action.
• Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance, including working odd and unusual hours, weekends, and holidays.
• At all times, maintain a courteous, positive, and professional working relationship with all Owensboro Racing and Gaming personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients, and vendors).
• Adhere to and ensure personnel strictly comply with Owensboro Racing and Gaming policy and procedures, IT procedures, internal controls, Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC) rules and regulations, and federal and state regulations.
• Build positive relationships with Owensboro Racing and Gaming personnel and guests by providing exceptional customer service and fostering a collaborative work environment for all team members.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standard documentation.
• Identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Interpret an extensive variety of instructions, troubleshooting when necessary.
• Maintaining a professional working relationship among all team members.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including some nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license and a Race and Sportsbook Employee License
Education, Training, And Experience
• 5+ years of leadership experience in security operations, law enforcement, or related field required.
• An associate’s degree or greater in a related field is preferred.
• Preferred certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Security Awareness Training.
Essential Physical Requirements
• Requires the ability to hear, sit, stand, talk, and walk with repetitive use of hands 51-100% of the time.
• Up to 25% travel when necessary
• Requires the ability to balance climb, bend over, crawl, crouch/stoop, kneel, reach overhead a turn/twist 1-24% of the time.
• Requires the ability to push/pull, carry, lift, slide/transfer 1-50+ lbs. 80%-100% of the time.
