The Green River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time APRN-Family Nurse Practitioner for our Daviess County Health Center located in Owensboro, KY. This position could also work in any of our seven (7) district counties which include Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union & Webster counties one (1) to three (3) days per month. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide professional nursing services to local health department patients. Perform family planning exams and prescribe appropriate birth control methods. Conduct Refugee & Senior Companion exams. Manage patients with chronic illnesses. Perform school exams, well-child check-ups and employee exams as needed. Follow up on abnormal findings such as labs and x-rays and refer to specialty physicians as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. NOTE: Work schedule is subject to change. Qualifications: Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program and possess national certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the KY Board of Nursing “Approved APRN Certification Organizations” with a Master’s degree or higher. KY State Licensure to practice as an “Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse”. Must be eligible for licensure and prescriptive authority as an APRN in the state of KY as authorized by KRS 314-011(8).
