As a Regional Superintendent, you’ll embody this approach while performing tasks involving the management of a construction jobsite. Tasks can range from assigning team members to monitoring safety on-site to ensuring the project stays on schedule. As a regional superintendent you will be assigned to the Northern Kansas/Salina Hutton office and cover projects North Central area of Kansas, typically within two hour radius of the Northern Kansas Hutton office. Position Description Analyze plans and specifications for the project. Collaborate with the project manager, estimator, and design team to estimate labor and material budgets as needed. Coordinate the work activities of laborers, carpenters and foremen. Control waste and limit overages by tracking material quantities and utilization. Track labor productivity by setting goals and encouraging the follow-through of those goals. Prepare a master schedule for the work scope and overall duration. Provide schedule updates for the project weekly so that the entire team is on the same page. Continuously inspect and observe work on-site to ensure it is safe, follows plan designs and is Hutton-quality work. Uphold safety standards on your projects while encouraging fellow team members to do the same. Communicate company expectations and enforce those expectations constantly and consistently. Encourage team members to attend training sessions to further their knowledge within the construction industry. Schedule team members, materials, and equipment two-to-three weeks in advance. Complete daily reports of job progress. Enter hourly team member hours weekly into Viewpoint Field Time. Prepare and present work plans at owner meeting updates. Plan and execute site logistics and material staging plans for maximum site effectiveness. Manage subcontractor’s workflow, schedules and quality expectations. Establish a positive jobsite environment. Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of and ability to follow OSHA and Hutton safety protocols. Knowledge of building codes, design, site control, inspection procedures, and scheduling. Ability to read, understand and communicate plans and specifications. Able to lead and motivate others to accomplish tasks safely. Able to productively work in a team environment. Able to follow directions as specified. Able to clearly communicate instructions. Able to do repetitive detailed work as needed. Able to solve problems quickly with tact and diplomacy. Able to work on school campus jobsites within proximity of children. Able to work out of town for multiple days per week for multiple months. Able to get to and from work utilizing own transportation. Special Requirements & Licenses OSHA 30 certified. First Aid & CPR certified. Education and Experience High school graduate. Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, business administration, engineering, or related field is preferred. 5-8 years of experience working as a project manager or superintendent. Training opportunities will be available on the job to further advance your skills. Work Environment You will work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
