Under the direction of the Public Works Director, leads a team of Journeyman HVAC Technicians and subordinate workforce in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing residential, commercial and industrial HVAC and Refrigeration systems on defense sites across the Kwajalein Atoll.
Duties:
• Install, troubleshoot and maintain/repair:
• Water Chillers, Evaporators, Condensers, Package Units, Split Systems, and window units
• Install, troubleshoot and maintain/repair
• Refrigeration Compressors, Refrigeration Units, Walk-In Freezers, Reach-In Freezers and Cold Storage facilities
• Knowledge on how to troubleshoot HVAC electrical circuits and operations
• 110 v system
• 208 v system
• 460 v system
• Knowledge on how to troubleshoot and repair above referred refrigeration units from 2-Ton capacity to 80-ton
• Mentor and lead teams in all duties listed above.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of the diploma.
Skill Level And/or Years Of Experience:
• Must have a minimum of 6 years hands on experience with CHS/CCS and HVAC systems
• Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as a Lead, Supervisor or manager to be able to manage a HVAC workforce
• Incumbents must demonstrate a high degree of English comprehension, including speaking, understanding, reading, writing, and typing. Must be capable of speaking clearly to an audience and provide Government presentations.
Licenses/Certifications:
• Master Specialist HVAC Technician Certification
• Certified by the American Society of heating, refrigerating and air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), in HVAC commissioning Process and standards.
