Description Performs general to skilled labor and maintenance on grounds, equipment, property, facilities; parks, community and weather-related events.
Starting pay $18.2301/hr

Examples of Duties Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Maintains grounds to ensure parks and other grounds are in proper condition and/or beautified, by mowing and trimming grass, aerating, seeding, fertilizing, tree and limb maintenance and removal, drainage work, applying herbicide as needed, removing trash, mulching, watering, weeding, pruning, planting and plant maintenance, etc.;
• Maintains athletic courts and fields to ensure they are safe, well-maintained, and in proper working condition for public use, by dragging and marking fields, replacing nets, bases, repairing fencing, replacing lights, renovating facilities, etc.;
• Maintains Parks bathrooms to ensure bathrooms are clean and proper condition for public use, by opening and closing bathrooms, cleaning bathrooms, and picking up trash and debris;
• Inspects and performs routine and preventative maintenance on property, facilities, and equipment to ensure they are in proper condition for the public/employees, to extend the life of items as much as possible, and to ensure safety for the public/employees;
• Performs other labor and maintenance involving the boat dock, fountain, flagpoles, festival setup, stage and show-mobile rental, snow and ice removal, set-up for Holiday in the Park, various recreational events, nuisance complaints, moving furniture or equipment, installing/removing banners/decorations, etc.;
• Provides support services for park and community events;
• Assists other departments as needed for weather related events.
Typical Qualifications Required at time of application:
• High school diploma or GED, or
• 3 months experience as laborer or similar position (preferably in grounds maintenance)
• Valid driver's license
Required within 11 months of employment: • Valid CDL, Class B or higher
• KY Pesticide License
Preferred , not required: • 1 yr. laborer experience
• Experience in welding, carpentry, plumbing, equipment operations, tree work landscaping, grounds maintenance
