Visual Communications Specialist
Enjoy being behind the camera and getting up close to heavy duty machinery? As the Visual Communications Specialist, you'll be working within a small team to help develop professional-quality photos and videos for use inside and outside Geoprobe®. Join our engineers out in the field and photograph our latest machine in action, head into our service shop to film a maintenance tutorial for our customers, or set up the sound system for company events.
A successful Visual Communications Specialist possesses a thorough knowledge of digital photography/videography techniques, the ability to see things through customers' eyes, strong interpersonal communication and time management skills, and an appreciation of a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
• Developing and producing engaging visual content on a regular basis for website, social media, print etc.
• Photographing machines, tools, and people and editing photos to use in marketing
• Capturing footage and editing compelling videos to share a story, showcase product benefits, or explain processes
• Outlining / drafting video scripts
• Proofing own work for content accuracy and design consistency before formal review
• Organizing and planning video and photo shoots
• Scouting out Salina area for potential film sites
• Encouraging participation from multiple departments as needed
• Understanding our company culture, the industries we serve, and our customers
• Staying up-to-date on company products
• Building strong relationships across the company
• Sharing insight with colleagues when recognizing opportunities for improvement
• Remain up to date on emerging marketing trends, techniques, and equipment to make recommendations for changes in methods or materials
Requirements
• BA/BS degree (or equivalent professional experience) in marketing, communications, journalism, photography/videography, or related field and 3+ years of marketing and/or communications experience in a professional setting
• Superb skills in photography/videography, both in capturing and editing material
• Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere and Photoshop; experience in Lightroom and After Effects is preferred
• Solid writing and copyediting skills, primarily for voiceover scripts and onscreen text
• Mechanical aptitude and confidence around large, heavy equipment
• Ability to multitask on multiple projects and adapt workflow to changing priorities
• Time management skills whether working independently or within a team, providing consistent, accurate follow through
• Strong interpersonal communication and comfortable collaborating with a diverse group of people both inside and outside department
• Capacity to work independently and in collaboration with others on photo/video shoots
• Certified drone pilot or willing to obtain license upon hire
Bonus
• Capable of short-form animations and/or modelling in SolidWorks
• Drone video/photography experience and a remote pilot certificate
• Experience with video promotion on YouTube / other social media platforms
• Well-versed in practical and appropriate applications of AI tools in content creation
